How long is the service life of the solar module? The average service life of a solar module is more than 20 years, but it will vary with the installation position and conditions. Can you provide the classification description of the solar module and solar cell? The solar cell technology can be classified into the wafer-based type solar cell and the thin-film type solar cell, where the wafer-based type solar cell can be further classified into the crystalline type solar cell and the compound type solar cell. The crystalline type solar cell can be further classified into the mono-crystalline type solar cell and the multi-crystalline type solar cell.
Currently, the multi-crystalline type, the mono-crystalline type and non-crystalline type solar cells are most frequently used.
kwh is what kind of unit? kW means the amount of the power electricity, and kWh means the power generation amount accumulated over a period of time. For example, generate power by 10kW for 5 hours; the final power generation amount will be 10x5=50kWh.

TSEC warrants the PV Module(s) described above, including factory-assembled DC connectors and cables, to be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal application, use, installation and service conditions as specified in TSEC’s installation manual for a period of ten (10) years from the date of delivery to the Customer. If the PV Module(s) fails to conform with the Limited Product Warranty, during the period of ten (10) years of this Limited Product Warranty, TSEC will, at its sole option, either repair or replace the PV Module(s), or refund the then current market price of the PV Module(s) when the Customer makes the claim. The repair or replacement or refund remedy set forth in Clause 1 shall be the sole and exclusive remedy provided under the Limited Product Warranty and shall not extend beyond the ten-year product warranty period set forth herein. This Limited Product Warranty does not warrant a specific power output, which shall be exclusively covered under Clause 2 hereinafter (“Limited Power Output Warranty”).
2. Limited Power Output Warranty
TSEC warrants that (a) for a period of ten (10) years from the date of delivery to the Customer, the PV Module(s) under normal application, use, installation and service condition as specified in TSEC’s installation manual, will exhibit a power output no less than ninety percent (90%) of the minimum power output as specified in the applicable TSEC’s datasheet, and (b) for a period of twenty five (25) years from the date of delivery to the Customer, the PV Module(s) under normal application, use, installation and service condition as specified in TSEC’s installation manual, will exhibit a power output no less than eighty percent (80%) of the minimum power output as specified in the applicable TSEC’s datasheet.
If the output power of the PV Module(s) tested by the third party which is accredited by TSEC at Standard Test Conditions does not meet the above levels within the time specified, provided that such loss in power is determined by TSEC to be due exclusively to defects in material or workmanship, TSEC will, at its sole option, deliver additional PV Module(s) to replace the missing power output, or repair the PV Module(s), or replace the PV Module(s) with equivalent PV Module(s). The remedies set forth in Clause 2 shall be the sole and exclusive remedies provided under the Limited Power Output Warranty.
How much time does it need after I order TSEC solar power generation system to the installation of the system is finished and can perform power generation? Take Taiwan as an example, the time period is about 150~182 days after the order is made to the system can perform grid-connected power generation.
The time period for estimating the installation position: 5 business days
The time period for installing the system: it depends on the scale; the common roof type system under 100kW is about 60 days, the system under 500kW is about 90 days.
The time period for grid-connected power generation: TPC will finish the grid-connection within 7 days after the grid-connected application is filed.
The real time period will still vary with the installation position, capacity and conditions.

Which area cannot be installed with the solar power generation system? It is not suggested to install the solar power generation system on the following areas.
The places with corruptive material.
The places which may be vibrated or shocked.
The places near to lightning rod or lightning wire within 1.5 meters
It is also not suggested to install the system at the places without sunshine, or the places which cannot achieve solar power generation system effect; almost all common houses can be installed with the system, but the height of the building has some limits. Which roof can be installed with the solar power generation system and which roof cannot be installed with the solar power generation system? The buildings with insufficient structure strength, insufficient sunshine or above 50 years. Will the weight of module panel become the load of the roof? The total weight of the solar module is very heavy; when we design and implement the system, we will try to averagely distribute the weight of the solar module over the rood in order to avoid the weight concentrated on the single point of the roof. Is it necessary to pull additoinal cables to install the system? The installation of the solar power generation system does not need additional cables. However, it may need to replace the transformer or need thicker cable. Besides, if several solar power generation systems are connected to each other by the same cable, they may not work at the same time, which should refer to the nearest power company. What procedure is necessary between the customer and the power company? The customer should sign the wholesales contract with the power company. TSEC will help the whole process, from applying for the system to signing the contract. Please do not worry about it.

Limited product warranty
When the system is implemented, the module has 10-year warranty under normal application, installation and usage and service condition; the module (including the outdoor replaceable DC cables, and other accessories) has no material and manufacturing defects.
Limited power output warranty:
Under normal application, installation and usage and service condition, the output power of the module will not be lower than 90% of the lowest output power of the product under the standard test condition. Besides, within the 25 years after the shipping date of the module, the output power of the module will not be lower than 80% of the lowest output power of the product under the standard test condition under normal application, installation and usage and service condition.
Regarding the service life:
The service life of he solar cell module is above 20 years. Other machine equipment also uses the components with about 10-year service life.
Is the solar power generation system very difficult to operate? Basically, the solar power generation system will automatically work and do not need complicate operation. Does the surface of the module of the solar power generation system need to be cleaned? Generally speaking, the dirt will be removed by wind and rain, so the system does not need to be cleaned; however, if the system has a lot of dirt or suffers dust storm, it needs to be cleaned. In general, the system only needs to be cleaned for one time per season. Does the system need daily maintenance? The system does not need daily maintenance. You just need to make sure the power motor can exactly generate power. Doest the system need to be checked periodically? After the implementation of the solar power generation system, please join “TSEC monitoring service”; then, “TSEC monitoring service” will monitor the operation status of the solar power generation system. If TSEC finds the solar power generation system cannot work normally, TSEC will actively contact you. Thus, the system does not need to be checked periodically.

How will the power generation be during a rainy day or cloudy day? The solar power generation system depends on the optical energy, so it can still work so long as there is light from sky. However, compared with sunny day, the power generation will be lower. Does the system will be influenced by shadow? The power generation of the system will be influenced by shadow. Besides, the power generation of the system will be influenced by other reasons in addition to the shadow area. Thus, the solar cell module must be installed in the place without shadow. In general, the design standard is no shadow during 9:00~15:00; if the area is big enough, we will design the system based on no shadow during 8:00~16:00. How to repair the system if the system malfunctions? TESC will repair the system during the warranty period apart from natural and man-made disasters; TESC will charge after the repair fee after the warranty period.
The questions related to the durability of the solar power generation system when a disaster takes place.
How is the durability of the solar power generation system against earthquake? The weight of the solar cell module and the holder is less than the roofing tiles by about 1/4-1/5, so they will not be a problem for most buildings. The building evaluation needs structure calculation and technical visa; the solar power generation system can be installed only if the building confirms to the load and the structure strength conditions. Does the solar power generation system have high durability against wind and typhoon? The strength of the solar module installed on the roof conforms to Taiwan Construction Act, and has high durability against strong wind; please do not worry about it.

Does the solar power generation system have high durability against hail? The glass surface of the module adopts the strengthened glass with 3mm thickness and conforming to IEC61215 10.17 Hail test (the test uses the hailstones with 25mm diameter and 23m/s velocity to hit 11 constant positions.). The durability against impact of the glass surface of the module can be considered equal to that of most roof materials. Does the solar power generation system have high durability against thunder? Over the past 30 years, it is vary rare that the solar cell module is directly damaged by thunder. There are some cases that appliances installed outside the house are damaged by thunder, they are not directly damaged by thunder but damaged by the induced current. Thus, the opportunity that the solar cell system is damaged by thunder is just the same as that of other appliances installed outside the house. As the solar cell system may be damaged by thunder, the system has adopted some measures against thunder, such as the surge absorber installed inside the system, which can effectively prevent from the damage duo to thunder. How doest the solar power generation system work during a power failure? The converter has the function capable of prevent from the islanding effect. When a power failure takes place, the solar power generation system will automatically shut down, after the power failure, the solar power generation system will automatically start up to generate power.
